Episode 4: Swapped Away

The end of last round was unnecessarily crazy. Geez. With pleasure we put an end to Ed's mad scrambling. Unfortunately he may have gotten some moral victories while he did it.

Ed started off by saying he had the idol, but decided to change his tone to JAIME having the idol. Saying he knows and he won't name his source and all that. Now, he HAD to have been bluffing but Amber came out and was asking him how he knew that, and she brought up MY name as the way she found out. Now, I could be hallucinating, but I don't remember telling Amber that Jaime had the idol. I thought I was the only one who knew. Granted I could be going crazy and genuinely don't remember, but I looked through chat logs too and I didn't see anything about me telling her Jaime had the idol. So I am extremely worried about Amber now. One because she knew about Jaime's idol, and two because she immediately threw my name out as the way she found out. So that's sketch as heck if I have ever seen it. Jaime hasn't told me anything yet about someone knowing he had the idol, so it's possible he doesn't want to tell me he told Amber OR that he doesn't know this whole ordeal happened. I am hoping for the latter, but one can only hope.

There was also a random vote for Amber thrown in there? I have really no idea how that happened but I guess it makes sense. Pretty sure it was Ozzy based on the parchments from last TC. If Ed had the idol then Ozzy voting Amber meant it would be a tie between the 2 of them. Personally I think I would have tried getting rid of Ozzy anyway, but after hearing about Amber throwing my name out so quick I'm not sure exactly what would have happened. I was a bit worried about Amber's reaction to it but she seemed to take it very coolly. Oh well, not much to do now BECAUSE WE SWAPPED.


So yes, like the entire cast expected we were swapped. At first glance, I was pretty happy with it. I still have Amber and Jaime on my tribe who I (mostly) trust to not turn on me. I am still one of the most active people on the cast I think so I feel like forming social bonds isn't going to be my problem. I just have to hope people decide to vote off people who aren't active or helpful versus threats. It may be a little early yet for the threat game to come in, or at least I hope. 

The tribe split here seems to be 3-3-2. 3 old red, 3 old blue, and 2 old green. So if we stick to the tribal lines thing, that means the 3 red and 3 blue can team up to take out the 2 green, or the 2 green get to essentially pick between the 3 red and 3 blue. After being on last night, I don't think it will be the prior, and I don't think I am particularly worried about the 2 green teaming up to vote me out at least.

Last night there were essentially 3 people on from not my tribe. Amber was on but that was really it. I basically told her that we are going to be talking a lot with people, so I left her to do her thing and me mine. Here are some quick bits about the people I got to talk to.

Sierra

Very first person to be in the tribe chat and say hello. From what I can tell Sierra is also pretty active and super friendly. We bonded a bit over random NBA finals (even though I don't watch basketball and I'm pretty sure she doesn't even live in the US) and GoT stuff so that was fun. I got a very good vibe from her and I'm hoping that is a good sign for things to come.

Big Tom

Also one of the very people on initially. He seems to be doing some kind of farmer shtick which is actually kinda endearing. Usually I'm not a fan of people playing characters (only one person I know seems to do it fairly well) but I actually kinda like Big Tom. I was just being myself and trying to be as friendly as possible and he pretty much returned the favor. 

Big Tom must have liked me a lot considering he told Sierra I was a "nice fella." A little while later he proposed an alliance with me basically. He asked my opinion on Sierra, I said I thought she was very nice and I liked her, and he asked if I would be interested in working with them.


So solely based on that I can probably deduce they are going to of course stick together after swapping tribes and being on the same one. I don't know a ton about their pre-swap relationship, but I will surely ask one of them soon enough as long as it doesn't sound weird. Tom was asking if there was anyone else I would like to bring into the alliance to make it a majority. I brought up Jaime, because I still trust the guy, and Amber. I don't think Amber has been giving people great vibes because of her response time, but I am almost positive they will think Jaime is very nice and like talking to him. 


Which brings me to my last new contact......

Kimmi

Now I did not get the chance to talk to Kimmi very much because it was VERY late by the time she messaged me. For the little bit I did I saw that she was extremely friendly. She is into horror stuff and responds to messages in PARAGRAPHS. She definitely tries in conversations and I am excited to have my next one with her so I can try contributing more. Kimmi is someone who seems very active so it should be interesting to see how our relationships turns out.


So that is everyone new I have talked to so far. I haven't noticed Cirie or John online yet. Cirie's AIM picture is a little weird to me basically because it is a dude and I think she may be using a personal AIM account. W/e, that is a thing I can deal with later. I am interested to see what this upcoming challenge is going to entail. Looks semi-live and I should def be around for the beginning of it, so I am excited. "Sharing the load" usually entails a live challenge so again,  things should be interesting.

This morning I got to talk to Jaime a little bit about what was going on last night. I brought up how Big Tom and Sierra were interested in working with us and he seemed pretty excited. He was talking to Big Tom and from what I can tell they both seem to like eachother. One of them just needs to bring up the idea of working together to the other so it is direct. I told Jaime about the plan to work with them, form a majority alliance, all that jazz. I think I am going to try talking to Amber later about it, but I guess we will see. If we already have a solid 4 things are looking pretty great. 

Now I of course have to acknowledge that I now have to stop talking with one of my best friends in the game   I have really grown to like Steph and I hope she can get something going on that tribe. Unfortunately she is basically alone there with Ozzy. Now I know she and Ozzy have had good convos so hopefully that can be a good thing, but I don't really know what she is going to be able to do on that tribe. Hopefully she can figure something out, I wish her the best. 


So that's it for now. The post-swap confesh should be done and a challenge should be on the way. I'm excited to see what the swap holds. I feel like I am in a pretty good spot. Now if only I can get back to knowing where the idol is at all times.........

You are not allowed to transfer the idol, but you may use it on another castaway. Freaking wow.........

I got the idol AGAIN. Last time I had the idol (in round 2 for those of you who don't remember) my tribe ended up winning the challenge anyway, so I literally didn't even need to bother considering to use it. I think the idol must be pretty good luck, because so far every round I have had it my tribe wins immunity. 

So woooooh! We won! It was a hard-fought win and I really did try being on as much as possible. I began to keep track of how many posts each person had once we hit our 10th crate (combo of Big Tom and my idea) and I found out that I was one of the highest posters on my tribe (2nd or 3rd I think) Tom did it the most and Jaime and Sierra were also both very high up there. The other tribe had a lot of really high posters too. Chelsea and Crystal seemed to have the most (believe). It seemed like basically everyone tried.

It seemed like Osten and Ozzy were the ones who tried the least on their tribe, while Amber was the one who tried the least on out tribe, but I am not 100% sure on that. If I was a betting man, I would say that one of them is probably in the most trouble, unless alliances are being established and social games are becoming quite prominent. 

It's a very good thing that we won, because I'm not sure if Amber would have survived the vote. Everyone has shown up and everyone on our tribe really is super dope. I haven't had a single negative reaction with any of them yet. The fact that Amber didn't do well in the challenge is a bad sign for her, plus she doesn't seem to be talking around a whole lot. According to Jaime, she has been talking with Kimmi a lot, but that is really it I think. I know Big Tom is very "meh" about her, and Sierra sees her as kinda sketchy. I complete understand where they are coming from, but I would like to keep Amber around if I can. I am worried that if there is another swap or if we go into a merge situation, Tom and/or Sierra may go back with their old green tribe members and turn on me. I don't THINK they would, but you never know with these things. I still don't know a ton about the dynamics on their old tribe and I really should be working on that.

I have been talking with Big Tom A LOT since the swap. It has been confirmed by Sierra that he seems to like me, so I definitely don't think he is playing me or anything (he says). I do really think he is interested in an alliance between him, Sierra, Jaime, and I. I would of course be happy for this to happen, so I say yeah. We were trying to think of a fifth person to bring in for a majority, and I brought up Amber but again, kinda hard when she isn't talking a lot to them. 

Jaime has been busy socially it seems. He has been talking around and also really wants to do the alliance thing. I eventually got him to just straight up ask Big Tom if he was interested and, as I was hearing this from both him and Tom at the same time individually, they seemed to click and it worked out. We formed a bit of a group chat. We were joking around that because of the new OITNB season that just came out and the fact that lots of us are watching it now, that we should name the alliance "Orange is the New Barra." Cue my photoshop skillz

Man I love photoshop, and OITNB.

So that's done and I am feeling pretty good about the alliance. It may be possible to bring in Amber as a 5th if she talks more with Sierra and Tom, but we shall see. I of course got to talk more with my fellow tribemates so maybe on of them will be the fabled fifth.

John

I liked John a lot from the short convo we had. He has been a bit busy because his sister graduated so we didn't talk an absolute ton, but he was very friendly and we just did lots of small-talk things. Jaime also seemed to like him a lot and think he was friendly. I mentioned to Tom that I liked John and he replied saying he liked him and Kimmi a lot. So that leaves one more......

Cirie

Cirie was able to show up for the challenge at the start which was good. First time I got a chance to talk to her as well. I actually liked her a lot, but everyone else is also so likable that it is pretty hard. John mentioned to me that Cirie seemed to like me, so yay social game! She is very friendly but the most we did game talk wise seemed to be that she was worried she was coming off as inactive, so she really wanted to win the challenge.


And so we did. As the challenge was ending Tom and I tried talking about who we would vote for if we lost. It basically seemed to be narrowed down to Cirie and Amber. Again, I would love to keep Amber (I think) but if literally everyone wants her out, there may not be a lot I can do. She would be the easiest to vote out I think, but I know Jaime really wants to keep her around and considering she knew about his idol (from I'm pretty sure not me and probably from him) they are probably pretty close. I need to talk to her later today and basically ask her to talk to Tom and Sierra more, dunno what else I can do.


But another day another challenge. Matty Ice moves on to the top 15. I have no idea what this series' record is with multiple swaps, so I may need to look into that later. I'm sure a twist will probably pop up in a round or so, but I'm glad I have the idol now and can at least use it to gain trust. I ended up telling Jaime, Tom, Sierra, and even John about it to gain trust. They said they wouldn't tell anyone, but I guess we will see about that.
